Sasha remains an active contributor to the Minneapolis arts community by photographing local events such as the 10th Annual NEMAA Event, as well as mentoring fellow students and assisting instructors at The Art Institutes International.
Artist statement
"Growing up, I was always interested in science and the world that surrounds us. I would play with ants and their colonies for hours outside. If not that, I would be in the kitchen making a mess while concocting any ingredients with in an arms reach. This was just the beginning of my foundation for my vision that I have applied to my photography.
Today I have taken those core aspects and gone to a new level by culminating science, light and technique. I inevitably base my images on this view whether it be a commercial or fashion photograph. In any case, I am constantly looking at color, texture, pattern and environment. Through these details I am able to take what seems to be ordinary, and conceptualize a mood and theme into an exquisite composition that can be read through many angles."
